What insightful and thought provoking writings are in this book of poems. I totally enjoyed the entire selection of poems in Bullets For Boomers, but I especially identified with Bulletproof, The Speeding Bullet and Boomers. My favorite line is fromBoomers, "Passion..it is the color of life, Without it, fade to grey.

As a Boomer myself I thoroughly enjoyed "Bullets for Boomers." The sometimes witty, sometimes serious and often thought provoking messages struck a chord in my life. Perhaps not all, as I would not want to be the ex-wife, the target of a rampage on divorce, although many of us have been there. I especially enjoyed "the Count of Byle," a must read for book clubs and University students for the hidden philosophical messages. Must have taken him years to write this ballad. I look forward to other written works by Mr. Schwartz and hope he continues his career as an author. I especially enjoyed his book "In the Shadow of Babylon," another must read.
If I’m really honest, this isn't the kind of book that would normally interest me. To my own detriment I am shamefully ignorant when it comes to poetry as I had always believed that it had to rhyme - well that’s what I was taught at school anyway!
Now, John Schwartz is obviously nothing of a traditional poet, but his amazing style of ‘putting pen to paper’ in this form is not only interesting, it’s innovative and refreshing. The examples of work in this book really do make you stop and think. Having also read his book ‘In the shadow of Babylon’ I’m guessing that’s exactly what this author wants you to do – and boy has he succeeded.
I enjoyed this read and am eager to read his next book which I hope won’t be too long a wait.
This author has interesting world views he expresses so well in poetry. High marks for this unique book.
